Oscar Night.
I never watch this self-aggrandizing schlock, but I’m such a LOTR freak (I’m not as bad as the mutants who show up at the theatre dressed up as Frodo) that I am drawn to the spectacle.
Catherine Zeta-Jones looks absolutely fabulous in red. She must be into fetish wear: she’s wearing a corset that’s [...]

And now, another photograph.

This was shot on Kodak Technical Pan, which is a slow, slooooow film with the finest grain available. It’s difficult to work with, but I have blown it up as much as a Beseler 45 with standard rack can go, and only then do you start to see grain.
It is an [...]

OOOOKAAAAY.
Now the links in the sidebar are fixed and don’t look so fricken ugly. The links in the text are still too light, but I’m going to have to figure out how to change only the ones in the main area and not the sidebar. As I said, HTML isn’t my strong suit.

The basics are there. The links are still list items, so they’re ugly. I’ll fix that later. Remarkably painless change, if the process is a bit clunky. Edit in text editor, ctrl-A, ctrl-C, alt-tab, click, ctrl-home, ctrl-shift-end, ctrl-v, click ’save’, click ‘edit’, click ‘republish entire site’. Alt-tab, F5. Look. Dang. Edit in text editor, etc.

Well, not too bad. Downloaded the new skin, made a few minor changes (HTML isn’t my strong suit), et voila. I like the look much better.
At this point, the archives aren’t there, my Karefully Kollected Kwality Links are missing, and the description line says ‘Your Description Here’. Oh, and I don’t like the link colour. [...]

I was going to reskin this thing last night. I’d gone to some site… Blogskins, I think, and browsed through loads of themes, some crappy, some quite nice. But I didn’t find anything that made good use of whitespace. Most of them were too gimmicky, with heavy graphics, fancy scrollbars, frames, and swirling gew-gaws.
I did [...]

This is a test.
I found a site that host photos and allows direct linking. Without further ado:

This is the sxKitten. Shot on Kodak T400CN, scanned, and fooled with in Jasc PaintShop Pro. I suppose I should add a dark border around them. These all have a light border, intended to make them look more like [...]

Everybody’s babbling about Atkins. Those who aren’t on it are talking about going on it, or talking about why they aren’t going on it. Why do we spend so much of our time on what we eat?
Well, because we believe it affects how we look. And it does, although at the base level it isn’t [...]

I’m so out of touch with the ersatz world of entertainment that I originally thought that all the hoopla about ‘Paris Hilton’ had something to do with the Hilton hotel in Paris. In France.
I don’t know what that makes me. A pop-Luddite? I don’t pay any attention to the world of movies and television other [...]
