In Which I Reveal The SxKitten’s Dampness
TMax 400 in D76 1:1. The contrast on this scan isn’t great. I made the original scan before I had learned how to control the density properly. The negative is a bit thin, but I know I can wring more detail from it.
She’d just gotten out of the shower [...]

Book List
Diva asked, re the previous entry, what books I would fill the umpteen shelves with.
First, I’d have the use of less than half the space, as the sxKitten is a major bookhound. She consumes sci-fi and fantasy like… well… like brain chips. Mind candies.
Anyway, some assumptions. I will assume that since I have the [...]

From Sunday
I visited the house of Roderick Haig-Brown today.
It is in Campbell River, BC, on Vancouver Island. My daughter lives with her mother there, six hours away by car and ferry from where I live. We went to the Haig-Brown house for the Haig-Brown Festival.
I have never, to my knowledge, read anything by Mr. Haig-Brown, [...]

Blogger Comments Reenabled
I like the Haloscan comments because they let a commenter include an email and/or url. However, the Blogger comments are streamlined, and have a nicer interface. The major downside is that they require you to register with Blogger, or the comment is from ‘anonymous’.

In Which I Continue My Slackass Ways
This is slightly manipulated. I laid a soft-focus layer over top with a bit of a Gaussian blur. I also corrected the colours some.

I am forced to be a cheap-ass blogger
I’ve been taking the cheap way out in the last while. Unfortunately, I don’t have much spare time these days, and it’s going to get worse.
My new job is turning out to be less structured than I had thought. In fact, things seem to be strung together on [...]

More From the Dodge
The truck was a Dodge, probably from the late 1940’s I’d guess. I don’t know cars as well as some, but I have a general idea what technology and style were.
This shot attempts to use selective focus to point the eye to fine detail. I’ve used it a lot the last few [...]

Blogging Lite
My daughter and I were exploring Telegraph Cove when we found this old Dodge pickup truck.

Childhood

My youngest, HouseApe 2.0 (I have to revise my version numberingsystem. I believe that HouseApe 2.0 should probably be 3.0) has comeup with some rather interesting fictional people.
The first was the Little Man With Little Voices. We believe that hecomes from the Haircutting For Dummies book. Somehow, he has become aninvisible companion. And a Parental [...]

Photobucket down

Photobucket is down
My photos have stopped showing up. They’re served by Photobucket, who upto now have been reliable. The main page has a link saying ‘OutageExplained’, which doesn’t work.
Oh, wait, now it does.
Photobucket has suffered mulitple disk failures in thelast week. We chose SCSI disks because it was supposed to be much morereliable. Unfortunately, its [...]
